Endowed Giving
Endowed gifts to the Minnesota Medical Foundation provide sustained support for the Medical School and School of Public Health.
Endowed funds are established for a variety of purposes determined by the donor—to provide scholarships for students, to advance breakthrough research, to honor distinguished faculty or alumni, to memorialize loved ones, or to simply thank the University of Minnesota for launching a successful career.
The Minnesota Medical Foundation Endowment Fund is made up of more than 500 funds and as of June 30, 2007, had a total value of $263 million. The foundation’s Board of Trustees establishes named endowed funds upon (1) receipt of a gift of $25,000 or more from a donor and (2) approval of the endowment description by the donors, the department that will administer the fund, and the board itself.
