Distinguished Teaching Awards

The Minnesota Medical Foundation invites you to participate in the selection of faculty to receive the Distinguished Teaching Awards. Awards will be made in the following categories:

  • Years One and Two Distinguished Teaching Award
  • Years Three and Four Distinguished Clinical Teaching Awards
  • Years Three and Four Distinguished Medical Research Teaching Awards

The Foundation endeavors with these awards to honor and encourage the kind of teachers medical students hold in esteem. The awards are regarded as a high honor. Winners receive a recognition certificate and a $1,000 cash prize from the Foundation.

Eligibility for Minnesota Medical Foundation Distinguished Teaching Awards is limited to three times in a decade and five times maximum, at which latter point an individual becomes a Lifetime Distinguished Teacher. Lifetime Distinguished Teachers are listed on the nomination form.

Nomination Process

An announcement will be e-mailed to all members of the four classes, and nominations may be made by replying to that e-mail. In February, after all nominations have been entered, students will receive a notice to cast their ballots via e-mail.

Announcement and presentation of the award is subject to the approval of the Honors and Awards Committee of the Minnesota Medical Foundation.

Deadline

Deadline for nominations:  Approximately May 1, August 1, and December 1 annually.  Ballot occurs annually on February 1.
