Medical Student Achievement Awards
The Minnesota Medical Foundation announces its annual Medical Student Achievement Awards and invites nominations.
Established in 1971 to recognize student leadership, community service, academic achievement, and research, the awards are presented to graduating medical students registered in undergraduate M.D. training programs at the University of Minnesota Medical School during the academic year.
Nomination Process
Nominations are accepted from medical students, faculty, student organizations, or other persons or organizations associated with medical students. One person or organization may nominate more than one candidate, but each nomination must be made separately and signed.
Nominations must include documentation of the nominee's performance in the areas of leadership, research, community service, and academic achievement during four years as a medical student. This documentation of merit will be the basis on which winners are selected. Excellence or contributions in all four of the categories listed is not necessary, but a good showing in at least three of the four is essential. Financial need is not a consideration.
Several $1,000 cash prizes and citations will be awarded. Winners will be selected by the Minnesota Medical Foundation Honors and Awards Committee and will be announced in late March.
