Veneziale-Steer Award
Applications are invited for the Veneziale-Steer Award, which recognizes outstanding basic scientific research by a graduate student or a medical student in the field of cellular growth regulation at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Twin Cities campus.
The award honors the memory of Carlo M. Veneziale, M.D., Ph.D., professor of biochemistry at the Mayo Medical School. It was established by his former student, Randolph C. Steer, M.D., Ph.D., with whom he worked in the areas of steroid biochemistry and enzymology.
The Medical School will coordinate the selection process. A basic science faculty committee will choose the recipient. The award will be presented in the spring and consists of a $1,000 cash prize and certificate.
Application Process
Appropriate applications include:
- Completed application form (Microsoft Word);
- Cover letter outlining the nature of the research;
- Letter of sponsorship from a member of the faculty; and
- CV or resume.
